How Counselling Works
You are here for a valid reason and will be encouraged to talk freely about whatever it is that has brought you to counselling.
The sessions are 50 minutes long and designed around you as an individual.
Our counsellor will never tell you what to do. Instead, she will work with you to uncover the root causes of the issue, identify your specific ways of thinking and create a plan of action to remedy the situation.

Why Counselling Works
Counselling provides a non-judgemental, secure, respectful environment in which to speak freely.
Without interruption, thoughts are given a free rein. Ideas flow easily and ‘lightbulb moments’ happen. The process allows you to gain insight into your thoughts and make sense of them.
The counsellor is there to provide support, respect and guidance to help you recognise self-damaging or limiting thought and behaviour patterns. She will help you learn new coping skills and ultimately, empower you to move forward and make positive change.
Just by reading this you have made the first step forward. If you are ready to get in touch, you can do so here.
Transactional Analysis – a quick guide
Our counsellor is trained in Transactional Analysis (TA). It’s a talking therapy which explores how a person’s personality has been shaped by experiences, many of them going back to childhood. TA allows you to achieve a deeper understanding of yourself, and to discover why you think as you do. Over time, that understanding leads to acceptance and ultimately, to change. It’s a practical therapy. You’ll discover day-to-day tools and techniques which can be used in many challenging situations, although the ultimate goal is to help you regain control over your life right now.
TA is versatile. It can help with a variety of issues including:
